Patient Access Liaison

Responsibilities

• Provide logistical and non-medical educational assistance to patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers to facilitate access to rare disease therapies
• Educate patients on insurance coverage, prior authorization steps, and available financial support programs such as co-pay assistance
• Support physician offices and sites of care with reimbursement education, coding, and billing requirements for infused pharmaceutical products
• Investigate and resolve access challenges, including supporting denied claims and conducting claim reviews
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients and healthcare teams to support ongoing therapy compliance
• Partner with internal cross-functional teams, including Market Access, Medical Affairs, and Case Management, to improve patient access

Requirements

• Doctorate degree with 2 years of patient services or reimbursement experience, OR
• Master's degree with 4 years of patient services or reimbursement experience, OR
• Bachelor's degree with 6 years of patient services or reimbursement experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of buy and bill reimbursement processes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Familiarity with HIPAA guidelines

Preferred Qualifications

• Scientific, nursing, or other clinical background
• Experience in orphan or rare disease therapeutic areas
• Ability to handle difficult patient cases and resolve complex hurdles
• Strong analytical skills and ability to report on regional activity
• Willingness to travel up to 50%, including some overnight and weekend commitments
