About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide logistical and non-medical educational assistance to patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers to facilitate access to UPLIZNA therapy
- Develop relationships with patients and caregivers through phone, text, email, virtual, or in-person connections
- Educate patients on insurance coverage, prior authorization steps, and available financial support programs such as co-pay assistance
- Provide proactive education to prescribers and sites of care regarding coding, billing, and reimbursement requirements for infused products
- Investigate and resolve access challenges, including support for denied claims and claim reviews
- Partner with internal cross-functional teams, including Market Access, Medical Affairs, and Case Management, to improve patient access
- Adhere to professional standards, HIPAA guidelines, and all federal, state, and local compliance requirements
Requirements
- Doctorate degree with 2 years of patient services or access and reimbursement experience
- OR Master's degree with 4 years of patient services or access and reimbursement experience
- OR Bachelor's degree with 6 years of patient services or access and reimbursement experience
- Strong knowledge of buy and bill reimbursement processes for infused pharmaceutical products
- Thorough understanding of HIPAA guidelines
- Ability to travel up to 50%, including some overnight and weekend commitments
Preferred Qualifications
- Scientific, nursing, or other clinical background
- Experience in orphan or rare disease therapeutic areas
- Proven ability to handle difficult patient cases and resolve complex hurdles
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strategic mindset
