About the role
Responsibilities
- Serve as a field-based specialist supporting patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers in navigating insurance coverage and reimbursement pathways.
- Assist stakeholders with prior authorization requirements, coding, billing considerations, and denied claims resolution.
- Develop relationships with patients and caregivers to provide education on co-pay assistance, national foundations, and financial support programs.
- Educate physician offices and infusion centers on therapy coverage pathways and reimbursement processes.
- Partner with internal cross-functional teams, including Market Access, Medical Affairs, and Case Management, to support the patient journey.
- Ensure all activities comply with HIPAA privacy requirements, FDA regulations, and internal compliance guidelines.
Requirements
- Doctorate, Master's, Bachelor's, Associate's, or High School diploma with relevant experience as specified in the job level requirements.
- Experience with buy-and-bill or infused pharmaceutical therapies.
- Strong knowledge of reimbursement processes, including prior authorization and appeals.
- Understanding of HIPAA and FDA regulations.
- Ability to travel up to 50%, including occasional overnight and weekend commitments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in rare disease or orphan drug therapeutic areas.
- Clinical background such as nursing or allied health.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in CRM, Microsoft Office, and AI-related systems.
- Ability to operate effectively in a matrixed field environment.
