About the role

Responsibilities

  • Support patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers in navigating insurance coverage and reimbursement pathways for Amgen therapies.
  • Serve as a resource for infused and specialty therapies, assisting with prior authorization requirements and reimbursement processes.
  • Identify and resolve access challenges, including coverage questions, prior authorization barriers, and denied claims.
  • Educate physician offices and sites of care on therapy coverage pathways, coding, and billing considerations.
  • Develop relationships with patients and caregivers through phone, virtual, and in-person engagement to assess needs and provide resources.
  • Partner with internal cross-functional teams, including Market Access, Medical Affairs, and Case Management, to support the patient journey.
  • Ensure all activities adhere to company policies, HIPAA privacy requirements, and FDA regulations.

Requirements

  • Doctorate, Master's, Bachelor's, Associate's, or High School diploma with relevant experience as specified in the job level requirements.
  • Experience with patient services, access, and/or reimbursement.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, including occasional overnight and weekend commitments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting buy-and-bill or infused pharmaceutical therapies.
  • Knowledge of reimbursement processes including prior authorization, appeals, and denied claims management.
  • Understanding of HIPAA guidelines and FDA regulatory requirements.
  • Clinical background such as nursing or allied health.
  • Experience in rare disease or orphan drug environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
