About the role
Responsibilities
- Support patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers in navigating insurance coverage and reimbursement pathways for Amgen therapies.
- Serve as a resource for infused and specialty therapies, assisting with prior authorization requirements and denied claims.
- Educate physician offices and sites of care on therapy coverage pathways, coding, and billing practices.
- Develop relationships with patients and caregivers to assess needs and provide information on co-pay assistance and financial programs.
- Partner with internal teams including Market Access, Medical Affairs, and Case Management to support the patient journey.
- Investigate and resolve access challenges to prevent treatment delays or lapses.
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to HIPAA, FDA, and company compliance guidelines.
Requirements
- Doctorate, Master's, Bachelor's, Associate's, or High School diploma with relevant experience as specified in the job level.
- Experience in patient services, access, and/or reimbursement.
- Ability to travel up to 50%, including occasional overnight and weekend commitments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting buy-and-bill or infused pharmaceutical therapies.
- Clinical background such as nursing or allied health.
- Rare disease or orphan drug experience.
- Deep understanding of reimbursement processes, including prior authorization, appeals, and denied claims management.
- Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines and FDA regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM, and AI-related systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
