About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized case plans to help clients navigate social challenges and break the cycle of poverty.
- Collaborate with community partners, including law enforcement, healthcare providers, and Indigenous organizations.
- Provide direct case management, including home visits, in-home training, and community resource referrals.
- Lead workshops, courses, and group offerings related to the Pathway of Hope program.
- Maintain accurate client records, case notes, and statistical data to measure program outcomes.
- Support organizational events such as food banks, back-to-school drives, and Christmas assistance.
- Assist in the development of new program materials, administrative frameworks, and best practices.
Requirements
- 2-year college diploma in Social Services or a related field.
- 2 years of experience in a social service setting, including work with marginalized populations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and email.
- Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and handle sensitive, confidential information.
- Willingness to support the mission and values of The Salvation Army.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid certification in First Aid/CPR.
- WHMIS certification.
- Non-violent crisis intervention training.
- Proficiency in Canva.
