Pathology Research Scientist

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine histology techniques including tissue processing, trimming, embedding, paraffin block microtomy, and cryo-sectioning
• Perform pathology staining techniques such as H&E, IHC, and special stains using manual and automated platforms (Ventana and Leica)
• Execute routine whole-slide brightfield and fluorescent scanning for morphometric analysis
• Maintain detailed laboratory records following GLP-like practices and ensure proper archiving of pathology specimens
• Contribute to the generation of SOPs, technical documents, presentations, and ELN documentation
• Organize and summarize assay and image analysis results to support interpretation and communication with stakeholders
• Collaborate with board-certified anatomic pathologists to review and quality control results

Requirements

• MS in Biological Sciences or a related discipline
• 7+ years of relevant research or industry experience in a histology laboratory
• Strong histology skills including embedding, staining, scanning, and digital pathology platforms
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize results in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior industry experience performing hands-on multiplex assays (IF, IHC, and RNAscope)
• Experience with image review, annotation, and visual data analysis using image analysis software
• Familiarity with machine learning datasets and/or computer vision applications
