About the role

Responsibilities

  • Supervise staff responsible for assessing DHS PATH referrals for domestic violence services
  • Provide placement assistance to emergency shelters and transitional housing facilities
  • Review subordinate work and make decisions on complex cases
  • Interface with DHS staff and domestic violence service providers
  • Monitor internal administrative controls for tracking referrals and actions taken
  • Collaborate with the Project NoVA Director on procedure development and staff training
  • Prepare periodic operational reports and recommend policy improvements

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited school
  • Two years of full-time social work experience (casework, group work, or community organization)
  • At least one year of experience in a supervisory capacity
  • Must be permanent in the Supervisor (Social Work) civil service title
  • Ability to obtain CSW or LMSW license within one year of appointment
  • Availability to work on holidays
