About the role
Responsibilities
- Maintain dessert station mise en place and production sheets
- Prepare all recipes for daily service without supervision
- Supervise other pastry cooks in recipe preparation and job functions
- Assist Executive Chef, Banquet Chef, and Restaurant Chef in plating
- Plate desserts to order according to service standards
- Maintain station cleanliness and complete daily production lists
- Assist team members in organizing kitchen items and food deliveries
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a pastry cook in a luxury hotel or fine dining environment
- Proficient written and verbal English communication skills
- Knowledge of pastry functions, mixing procedures, and baking temperatures
- Knowledge of various cooking techniques including baking, broiling, and roasting
- Understanding of food handling, safety, and sanitation guidelines
- Ability to work under stressful circumstances and adapt to changes
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
Preferred Qualifications
- Culinary Certificate or Associate Degree in Pastry Arts
- Spanish language proficiency
