Pastoral Officer

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development of the School Behaviour Policy
• Monitor the academic, social, and emotional wellbeing of pupils within a year group
• Liaise with parents and outside agencies, attending meetings as appropriate
• Promote positive values, attitudes, and good student behaviour
• Manage pupils displaying socially unacceptable or challenging behaviour
• Establish productive working relationships with pupils to encourage engagement
• Maintain daily contact with assigned pupils to support their development and target achievement
• Work in partnership with other practitioners to deliver effective interventions for children and families
• Report pupil and school issues in line with health and safety and child protection policies

Requirements

• A good level of education
• Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills
• Experience working in a busy school environment
• Experience working with children and young adults
• Experience managing conflict
• Proven teamwork skills
