Responsibilities

  • Develop and/or update a class syllabus for Sociology 101
  • Prepare lectures, projects, and other student assignments
  • Present instruction based on course competencies and performance levels
  • Maintain regularly scheduled office hours
  • Meet all designated class periods
  • Grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner
  • Submit mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations
  • Order appropriate books and materials in advance of the class start date

Requirements

  • MA in Sociology or a closely related discipline
  • Evidence of effective teaching experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • ABD or PhD level students from the Syracuse University program
  • Previous experience teaching for the Maxwell School
