Part-Time Faculty: VFX & AI for Film

Responsibilities

• Prepare and teach FIL 532 VFX & AI for Film, exploring the convergence of visual effects and artificial intelligence.
• Develop and update course syllabi, lectures, projects, and student assignments.
• Maintain regularly scheduled office hours to support student learning.
• Grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner and submit progress reports and final grades.
• Provide instruction based on course competencies, covering both technical workflows and critical/ethical dimensions of AI integration.
• Build positive rapport with students and faculty within the Department of Film and Media Arts.

Requirements

• MFA in Film, Film Production, Film and Media Arts, Motion Pictures, or a related discipline (advanced degrees or equivalent professional experience are also encouraged).
• Demonstrated professional or academic experience in visual effects production and compositing workflows.
• Working knowledge of AI-driven media tools, such as Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, or Runway ML.
• Experience integrating AI tools into creative production pipelines.
• Demonstrated ability to teach or mentor in a studio or lab-based environment.
• Commitment to promoting inclusivity and diversity in the classroom.
