Part-Time Faculty: TV & Digital News Reporting I

Responsibilities

• Teach BDJ 664 TV & Digital News Reporting I to master's students, focusing on broadcast news production and multimedia storytelling.
• Develop a comprehensive syllabus and prepare all necessary course materials.
• Lead students through live TV reporting drills and multimedia web story production.
• Hold weekly office hours to provide mentorship and academic support to students.
• Grade assignments and examinations in a timely manner and submit progress reports and final grades according to University regulations.

Requirements

• Substantial experience in writing and reporting local TV news, including both packaged and live reporting.
• Proven experience in storytelling across multiple platforms, including social media and web.
• Ability to instruct classes on-site during designated times (Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays) and manage a live lab.
• Proficiency in operating standard classroom instructional technology.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in a relevant field.
• Bachelor's degree with significant professional industry experience.
• Previous experience teaching at the university level.
