About the role
Responsibilities
- Prepare and teach one weekly class for the Fall 2026 semester
- Develop and update a course syllabus covering topics such as eco-horror, horror noire, women in horror, and horror as social metaphor
- Prepare lectures, projects, and other student assignments
- Maintain regularly scheduled office hours and build positive rapport with students and faculty
- Grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner
- Submit mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations
Requirements
- MFA in Film, Cinema Studies, or a related discipline (advanced degrees or equivalent professional experience also considered)
- Minimum of 3 years of college-level teaching experience
- Expertise in film history and theory, specifically within the subject area of horror, culture, and violence
- Familiarity with global film practice
- Demonstrated ability to teach at the undergraduate and/or graduate level
