About the role

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and teach one weekly class for the Fall 2026 semester
  • Develop and update a course syllabus covering topics such as eco-horror, horror noire, women in horror, and horror as social metaphor
  • Prepare lectures, projects, and other student assignments
  • Maintain regularly scheduled office hours and build positive rapport with students and faculty
  • Grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner
  • Submit mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations

Requirements

  • MFA in Film, Cinema Studies, or a related discipline (advanced degrees or equivalent professional experience also considered)
  • Minimum of 3 years of college-level teaching experience
  • Expertise in film history and theory, specifically within the subject area of horror, culture, and violence
  • Familiarity with global film practice
  • Demonstrated ability to teach at the undergraduate and/or graduate level
