Part-Time Faculty

Responsibilities

• Developing and updating a class syllabus
• Ordering appropriate books and materials
• Preparing lectures, projects, and student assignments
• Maintaining two hours of regularly scheduled office hours per week
• Presenting instruction based on class competencies and performance levels
• Meeting all designated class periods
• Grading student assignments and exams in a timely manner
• Submitting completed final grades according to University regulations
• Working with the academic unit to maintain student learning outcomes

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Earth Sciences or a related field
• Ability to teach EAR 317 – Sedimentary Processes and Systems
• Knowledge of mineralogy and the history of Earth and life
