Part-Time Faculty: Swing Dance

Responsibilities

• Teach a one-credit hour introductory Swing Dance course for Musical Theater majors once per week for 90 minutes.
• Develop or adapt a current course syllabus covering fundamental technique and theory in a theatrical context.
• Instruct students on basic partnering, foundational footwork, rhythm, musicality, and introductory swing combinations.
• Prepare lectures, projects, and other student assignments.
• Maintain regularly scheduled office hours and build positive rapport with students and faculty.
• Grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner and submit mid-semester progress reports and final grades.
• Meet all designated class periods and coordinate coverage or rescheduling in the event of emergencies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• 5+ years of teaching dance at the college or professional level.
• Demonstrated teaching effectiveness.
