Part-Time Faculty: Survey of Film History 1

Responsibilities

• Prepare and teach one class per week for the FIL 253 Survey of Film History 1 course.
• Develop and update course syllabi, lectures, projects, and student assignments.
• Maintain regularly scheduled office hours to support student success.
• Grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner.
• Submit mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations.
• Build positive rapport with students and fellow faculty members.

Requirements

• MFA in Film, Cinema Studies, or a related discipline (advanced degrees or equivalent professional experience are also encouraged).
• Minimum of 3 years of college-level teaching experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in cinema history from its origins through the 1960s.
• Knowledge of the technical, economic, and social evolution of cinema.
• Ability to connect film form to broader social, political, and cultural historical contexts.
