Responsibilities
- Prepare and teach one class per week for the FIL 253 Survey of Film History 1 course.
- Develop and update course syllabi, lectures, projects, and student assignments.
- Maintain regularly scheduled office hours to support student success.
- Grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner.
- Submit mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations.
- Build positive rapport with students and fellow faculty members.
Requirements
- MFA in Film, Cinema Studies, or a related discipline (advanced degrees or equivalent professional experience are also encouraged).
- Minimum of 3 years of college-level teaching experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in cinema history from its origins through the 1960s.
- Knowledge of the technical, economic, and social evolution of cinema.
- Ability to connect film form to broader social, political, and cultural historical contexts.
