Part-Time Faculty - Spanish

Responsibilities

• Teach 4-credit sections of beginning and intermediate Spanish (SPA 101-202) for the Fall 2026 semester
• Develop and update class syllabi and prepare lectures, projects, and student assignments
• Deliver instruction based on student competencies and performance levels using proficiency-based methods
• Maintain regularly scheduled office hours (two hours per week)
• Grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner and submit progress reports and final grades
• Build positive rapport with students and faculty while maintaining student learning outcomes
• Manage course materials and ensure all designated class periods are met

Requirements

• Master’s degree in a relevant field
• Native or near-native fluency in Spanish

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in university-level teaching
• Experience with communicative, proficiency-oriented language instruction
• Familiarity with flipped classroom methodology
• Experience integrating instructional technology, including AI-supported language learning tools, into instruction
