About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach 4-credit sections of beginning and intermediate Spanish (SPA 101-202) for the Fall 2026 semester
- Develop and update class syllabi and prepare lectures, projects, and student assignments
- Deliver instruction based on student competencies and performance levels using proficiency-based methods
- Maintain regularly scheduled office hours (two hours per week)
- Grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner and submit progress reports and final grades
- Build positive rapport with students and faculty while maintaining student learning outcomes
- Manage course materials and ensure all designated class periods are met
Requirements
- Master’s degree in a relevant field
- Native or near-native fluency in Spanish
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in university-level teaching
- Experience with communicative, proficiency-oriented language instruction
- Familiarity with flipped classroom methodology
- Experience integrating instructional technology, including AI-supported language learning tools, into instruction
