About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and/or update a class syllabus for SOC 248
- Prepare lectures, projects, and other student assignments
- Deliver instruction focused on ethnic inequalities, group interactions, social movements, racism, prejudice, and discrimination
- Maintain regularly scheduled office hours to support students
- Grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner
- Submit mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations
- Order appropriate books and materials in advance of the class start date
Requirements
- MA in Sociology or a closely related discipline
- Evidence of effective teaching experience
Preferred Qualifications
- ABD or PhD level students from the Maxwell School program
- Previous experience teaching for the Maxwell School
