About the role

Responsibilities

  • Develop and/or update a class syllabus for SOC 248
  • Prepare lectures, projects, and other student assignments
  • Deliver instruction focused on ethnic inequalities, group interactions, social movements, racism, prejudice, and discrimination
  • Maintain regularly scheduled office hours to support students
  • Grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner
  • Submit mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations
  • Order appropriate books and materials in advance of the class start date

Requirements

  • MA in Sociology or a closely related discipline
  • Evidence of effective teaching experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • ABD or PhD level students from the Maxwell School program
  • Previous experience teaching for the Maxwell School
