About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach SMC 500: Performance for Sports Media during the Fall 2026 semester (Tuesdays/Thursdays 2:00pm-3:20pm).
- Focus on developing students' critical voice and on-camera performance skills for sports reporting.
- Instruct students on authoritative and conversational delivery for sets, packages, interviews, and live remote locations.
- Develop a comprehensive course syllabus and prepare all necessary instructional materials.
- Hold weekly office hours to provide mentorship and support to students.
- Grade assignments and examinations in a timely manner and submit required progress reports and final grades.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
- Ability to instruct classes on the designated days and times on the Syracuse, NY campus.
- Ability to operate standard classroom instructional technology (computers, projectors, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Professional experience in on-air performance.
- Background in media, reporting, or sports broadcasting.
