About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach DRA 135.1 Jazz 1, an introductory jazz dance course for Musical Theater majors, twice per week.
- Develop and update class syllabi and prepare lectures, projects, or other student assignments.
- Provide instruction based on the specific competencies and performance levels of the course.
- Maintain regularly scheduled office hours and build positive rapport with students and faculty.
- Grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner and submit mid-semester progress reports and final grades.
- Ensure consistent attendance and coordinate coverage or substitutes in the event of emergencies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- 5+ years of experience teaching jazz at the college or professional level.
- Demonstrated teaching effectiveness.
