Part-Time Faculty: Gallery Exhibition Development

Responsibilities

• Develop and update a course syllabus for MUS 500.1 Special Topics: Gallery Exhibition Development
• Prepare lectures, projects, and student assignments focused on ideation, curatorship, and management
• Provide hands-on instruction regarding exhibition design, installation, and engaging with living artists
• Maintain regularly scheduled office hours and build positive rapport with students and faculty
• Grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner and submit progress reports and final grades
• Meet all designated class periods and manage course instruction based on established competencies

Requirements

• MFA or MA in Art History, Arts Management, or a related field
• Proven experience managing exhibition spaces
• Curatorial experience working directly with living artists
• Extensive knowledge of exhibition design and installation methodology
• Direct access to a gallery or museum space
• Excellent organizational and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing artwork loans and gallery management processes
• Experience developing exhibition programming and managing budgets
