About the role
Responsibilities
- Prepare and teach one class per week for the course "From Photography to Cinematography: Reimagining Auteur Cinema."
- Develop and update the course syllabus, including lectures, projects, and student assignments.
- Maintain regularly scheduled office hours to support student learning.
- Grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner.
- Submit mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations.
- Build positive rapport with students and fellow faculty members.
Requirements
- MFA in Film, Cinema Studies, or a related discipline (advanced degrees or equivalent professional experience are also encouraged).
- Minimum of 3 years of college-level teaching experience.
- Demonstrated ability to teach cinematography, film aesthetics, or international/auteur cinema at the undergraduate or graduate level.
- Expertise in the history and theory of cinematography and the auteur tradition.
- Familiarity with both analog/photographic origins and contemporary digital cinematographic practices.
