Part-Time Faculty: From Photography to Cinematography

Responsibilities

• Prepare and teach one class per week for the course "From Photography to Cinematography: Reimagining Auteur Cinema."
• Develop and update the course syllabus, including lectures, projects, and student assignments.
• Maintain regularly scheduled office hours to support student learning.
• Grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner.
• Submit mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations.
• Build positive rapport with students and fellow faculty members.

Requirements

• MFA in Film, Cinema Studies, or a related discipline (advanced degrees or equivalent professional experience are also encouraged).
• Minimum of 3 years of college-level teaching experience.
• Demonstrated ability to teach cinematography, film aesthetics, or international/auteur cinema at the undergraduate or graduate level.
• Expertise in the history and theory of cinematography and the auteur tradition.
• Familiarity with both analog/photographic origins and contemporary digital cinematographic practices.
