Part-Time Faculty: Foundations of Social Work Research

Master’s degree or higher in social work, Master’s degree or higher in social science, Previous undergraduate or graduate-level teaching experience preferred
About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and update the course syllabus for SWK 361: Foundations of Social Work Research
- Prepare lectures, projects, and other student assignments
- Deliver instruction covering research methods, including problem formulation, measurement, sampling, design, data collection, and analysis
- Maintain regularly scheduled office hours to support students
- Grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner
- Submit mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations
- Complete and submit CSWE competency-based student outcomes for department assessment and accreditation
- Build positive rapport with students and fellow faculty members
Requirements
- Master’s degree or higher in social work, social science, or a related profession
- Ability to teach on-site in Syracuse, NY, for the Fall 2026 semester
- Availability to meet class requirements (Monday & Wednesday, 3:45-5:05 PM)
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous undergraduate or graduate-level teaching experience in social work
