About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach DRA 100 Foundations of Performance for Non-Majors, introducing students to the Actor’s Instrument, imagination, and various acting techniques for stage and screen.
- Create and update course syllabi in collaboration with the Program Coordinator to ensure learning objectives are met.
- Prepare lectures, projects, and student assignments.
- Maintain regularly scheduled office hours and provide timely grading of assignments and exams.
- Present instruction based on the specific competencies and performance levels of the course.
- Build positive rapport with students and fellow faculty members.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- At least 5 years of experience teaching acting at the college level.
- Demonstrated teaching effectiveness.
- Expertise in a diverse range of voices in contemporary and historical theater.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced or terminal degree.
- Equivalent professional experience.
