About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach one section of DES 320 Wondering the Alphabet on Mondays from 2:15 PM to 4:55 PM during the Fall 2026 semester.
- Develop and update the course syllabus, including lectures, projects, and student assignments.
- Explore the relationship between sounds and shapes in typography and creative writing.
- Maintain regularly scheduled office hours and build positive rapport with students and faculty.
- Grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner and submit mid-semester progress reports and final grades.
- Ensure consistent class attendance and coordinate coverage or rescheduling in the event of emergencies.
Requirements
- MFA or terminal degree in Visual Communication.
- Extensive knowledge of typography and the origins of language.
- Proven college-level teaching record.
- Industry-related work experience.
