About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and update a class syllabus for SOC 397 Criminology
- Prepare lectures, projects, and other student assignments
- Deliver instruction covering the nature and significance of crime, historical and modern explanations, and crime control strategies
- Maintain regularly scheduled office hours to support students
- Grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner
- Submit mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations
- Order appropriate books and materials in advance of the course start date
Requirements
- MA in Sociology or a closely related discipline
- Evidence of effective teaching experience
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD or ABD status
- Previous teaching experience within the Maxwell School
