About the role
Responsibilities
- Prepare and teach one 3-credit course per week on documentary and experimental filmmaking modes.
- Develop and update the course syllabus, including lectures, projects, and student assignments.
- Conduct demonstrations, readings, and practical tasks to explore theory, aesthetics, and practice.
- Maintain regularly scheduled office hours to support student learning.
- Grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner and submit progress reports and final grades.
- Build positive rapport with students and fellow faculty members.
Requirements
- MFA in Film, Film Production, Film and Media Arts, Motion Pictures, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated professional experience in filmmaking and film production.
- Comprehensive understanding of the film production process, including development and post-production.
- Knowledge of the conceptual and critical aspects of cinematic modes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Commitment to ongoing research and/or creative practice.
- Advanced professional experience in the film industry.
