About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach DRA 240 Ballet II, a mid-level course for Musical Theater majors, twice per week for 80 minutes.
- Provide progressive studio study of classical theatrical dance technique, including adagio, turns, petit allegro, and grand allegro.
- Create, adapt, and update a current course syllabus.
- Prepare lectures, projects, and other student assignments.
- Maintain regularly scheduled office hours and build positive rapport with students and faculty.
- Grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner and submit mid-semester progress reports and final grades.
- Meet all designated class periods and coordinate coverage or rescheduling in the event of emergencies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 5+ years of experience teaching ballet at the college or professional level.
- Demonstrated teaching effectiveness.
