Parks and Recreation Associate - Mobile Recreation

Responsibilities

• Assist patrons and staff with the facilitation of scheduled programs and events
• Perform setup and teardown of mobile recreation equipment and facilities
• Monitor patron activity and oversee scheduled programming to ensure safety
• Maintain park and recreational venues, including cleaning, sweeping, and debris removal
• Collect various fees from patrons and manage cash transactions
• Direct parking and pedestrian traffic and place directional signage as needed
• Assist with concessions, including operating cash registers and serving food
• Perform general maintenance such as shoveling snow, pulling weeds, or mopping floors

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Possession of a valid driver's license (required for assigned driving duties)
• Must meet the City of Des Moines residency requirement
• Ability to pass a satisfactory criminal, sex offender, and driving record background check
• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working with the general public
• Experience in the field of recreation or athletics
