About the role
Responsibilities
- Act as a customer service ambassador for Michigan Medicine parking facilities
- Assist patients and visitors with directions, finding available parking, and locating vehicles
- Greet and screen visitors at parking structures and provide maps or alternative parking options
- Monitor parking space availability and redirect traffic to available facilities
- Assist parkers with the use of parking equipment, including handling cash or credit card transactions
- Provide physical assistance to patients and visitors, such as helping with wheelchairs, strollers, or belongings
- Drive university vehicles to assist in various parking operations
- Maintain parking structures by assisting with cleaning, trash removal, and snow/ice removal
- Monitor for unauthorized parking activity and report suspicious behavior to security
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least one year of customer service experience (hospital setting preferred)
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to stay active and moving for most of the shift
- Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
