Paramedic

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site patient care within licensed scope of practice and facility protocols
• Support intake arrival screening, including medical history and vital signs documentation
• Perform daily triage of patient requests and escalate to higher levels of care when indicated
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide basic emergency stabilization
• Support safe patient transfers to hospitals and ensure continuity of care
• Assist with infectious disease screening, isolation, and reporting
• Document all patient encounters and clinical information accurately in electronic health records
• Participate in required emergency response and life-safety training drills
• Comply with OSHA, infection prevention, and hazardous materials handling procedures

Requirements

• Current, full, active, and unrestricted Maryland paramedic license (or ability to obtain one)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Life Support (ACLS) certification
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to pass a medical examination and thorough background investigation
• U.S. citizenship and five-year U.S. residency
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting over 30 pounds and performing CPR in stressful environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) or International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) certification
• Proficiency in Spanish
