About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide on-site patient care within licensed scope of practice and facility protocols
- Support intake arrival screening, including medical history and vital signs documentation
- Perform daily triage of patient requests and escalate to higher levels of care when indicated
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide basic emergency stabilization
- Support safe patient transfers to hospitals and ensure continuity of care
- Assist with infectious disease screening, isolation, and reporting
- Document all patient encounters and clinical information accurately in electronic health records
- Participate in required emergency response and life-safety training drills
- Comply with OSHA, infection prevention, and hazardous materials handling procedures
Requirements
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted Maryland paramedic license (or ability to obtain one)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Life Support (ACLS) certification
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass a medical examination and thorough background investigation
- U.S. citizenship and five-year U.S. residency
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting over 30 pounds and performing CPR in stressful environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) or International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) certification
- Proficiency in Spanish
