Paralegal

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and process files for the franchise ownership transfer process, including initiations, consents, and closings.
• Examine legal documents such as contracts, powers of attorney, and applications to verify organizational structures and financial ability.
• Prepare site documents, transfer deeds, and consent letters using DocuSign.
• Conduct lease research and investigations in coordination with the leasing team.
• Act as a liaison between the Transfers Approval team, Business Development, Market Operations, and applicant advisers.
• Manage the calculation and collection of transfer fees and settlement payments.
• Provide general legal support, including assisting with the annual Franchise Disclosure Document process and gathering documentation for regulatory requests.
• Lead training sessions for internal business teams regarding the transfer process.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Law or Paralegal Studies.
• 2-6 years of experience in a legal or paralegal field (e.g., conveyancing or transactional paralegal).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook).
• Experience with DocuSign and Adobe Pro.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage repetitive tasks with high accuracy.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize workload effectively.
