Paralegal - Private Client

Responsibilities

• Assist in the collection, distribution, reporting, and transfer of estate assets, including preparing inventories and asset schedules.
• Prepare state and federal fiduciary income tax returns, as well as state and federal estate and gift tax returns, under attorney or accountant supervision.
• Draft and e-file probate pleadings, trust administration documents, and accounting documents.
• Proactively monitor filing deadlines and case schedules to ensure attorneys are informed of upcoming requirements.
• Act as a liaison between attorneys and clients throughout the duration of a case.
• Edit and proofread legal documents for accuracy and compliance with federal and state laws and local rules.
• Utilize specialized estate and trust administration and tax preparation software.

Requirements

• 5+ years of paralegal experience specifically in Florida estate and trust settlement and administration.
• Formal paralegal training from an accredited college or ABA-approved program, or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of Florida estate and trust law, including administration rules and procedures.
• Experience with probate software and Florida e-portal/e-filing systems.
• Working knowledge and experience preparing federal estate, gift, and fiduciary income tax returns.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines.
