About the role
Responsibilities
- Draft, format, proofread, and finalize case-related correspondence and legal documents in English and either French or Spanish.
- File submissions and manage case-related documents within the ICSID document management system.
- Coordinate and oversee parties' submissions on external file-sharing sites and provide technical assistance to arbitrators.
- Track case procedural details, milestones, and maintain calendars of events and deadlines.
- Conduct research on assigned issues using case files, online portals, and other databases.
- Prepare budget estimates for cases and assist in monitoring case escrow accounts.
- Provide formatting, editing, and cite-checking assistance for awards and decisions.
- Assist with logistical arrangements for remote and in-person hearings, including participant lists and travel documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, Paralegal certificate, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1-2 years of relevant paralegal or legal experience.
- Fluency in English and either French or Spanish (one position requires French, the other Spanish).
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Advanced knowledge and experience with videoconferencing platforms such as Zoom, Cisco Webex, or MS Teams.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of international arbitration procedures.
- Experience with legal document drafting and preparing case-specific budget proposals.
