About the role
Responsibilities
- Prepare and file Federal and state estate, gift, and fiduciary income tax returns
- Prepare estate and trust accountings and informational returns for tax-exempt entities
- Perform estate and gift tax planning, including actuarial and interest computations
- Maintain and update estate and trust accounts and tax records
- Respond to audit inquiries from the IRS and state tax agencies
- Assist with estate administration tasks, including probate filings, inventories, and asset distribution
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in a trust and estate practice at a law firm, CPA firm, or bank
- Bachelor's Degree or a paralegal certificate
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and multi-task under pressure to meet deadlines
- Ability to establish rapport with attorneys, clients, and staff
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
- Enrolled Agent designation
