About the role
Responsibilities
- Communicate with law enforcement agencies to request facts of closed and pending criminal cases
- Draft official documents including Orders to Produce, subpoenas, and transcript requests
- Create files for defendants seeking diversion programs and investigate criminal histories
- Prepare files for weekly court proceedings
- Attend court proceedings to document case notes and provide administrative support to ADAs
- Communicate with court personnel and stakeholders regarding participant progress
- Maintain spreadsheets to track information for the Pathways to Public Safety Division
- Take detailed notes during defendant interviews
- Perform administrative duties such as managing calendars and ordering supplies
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college
- Experience as a paralegal in the criminal justice field (required for Level 2 and 3)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and writing skills
- Ability to learn quickly and use various computer systems and databases
- Ability to interact effectively with staff, court representatives, and law enforcement
- Creative problem-solving skills
