About the role
Responsibilities
- Support classroom instruction under the direction of licensed teaching staff
- Provide one-on-one and small-group academic assistance
- Help maintain a structured, supportive, and trauma-informed learning environment
- Assist with behavior support, redirection, and relationship-building
- Supervise students during transitions, breaks, and other non-instructional times
- Support documentation, attendance, and basic administrative tasks
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to meet student needs
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Strong communication, patience, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to remain calm, consistent, and supportive with students in non-traditional settings
- Team-oriented mindset
Preferred Qualifications
- Active Indiana Substitute Teacher License or ability to obtain one
- Actively enrolled in an education degree program
- Pursuing a Transition to Teaching pathway
