About the role

Responsibilities

  • Support classroom instruction under the direction of licensed teaching staff
  • Provide one-on-one and small-group academic assistance
  • Help maintain a structured, supportive, and trauma-informed learning environment
  • Assist with behavior support, redirection, and relationship-building
  • Supervise students during transitions, breaks, and other non-instructional times
  • Support documentation, attendance, and basic administrative tasks
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to meet student needs

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Strong communication, patience, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to remain calm, consistent, and supportive with students in non-traditional settings
  • Team-oriented mindset

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active Indiana Substitute Teacher License or ability to obtain one
  • Actively enrolled in an education degree program
  • Pursuing a Transition to Teaching pathway
