Painting/Coating Inspector

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection activities for blasting and painting of steel structures, pipe spools, and EI items in accordance with Inspection Test Plans (ITP).
• Monitor and coordinate all inspection activities with Client Inspectors.
• Inspect all materials used for blasting and painting, including reviewing Manufacturer’s Technical Safety Data Sheets and performing visual receiving inspections.
• Conduct qualification tests for abrasive blasters, paint applicators, and crew supervisors.
• Monitor ambient conditions including relative humidity, dew point, air temperature, and steel temperature, as well as WFT and DFT.
• Perform adhesion, curing, contamination, and holiday tests in hulls, tanks, and critical areas alongside client representatives.
• Review repair procedures to ensure factors promoting corrosion under insulation are eliminated.
• Evaluate daily coating reports and maintain all quality records for final inspection and documentation.
• Attend project progress review meetings to contribute to QA/QC problem-solving.

Requirements

• Engineering bachelor's degree or diploma.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a QC Inspector.
• NACE Level 2 certification or an equivalent professional certification.
• Fluency in English with strong communication skills.
• Proven technical experience within the Oil and Gas sector.
