Painting Technician

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces including wood, MDF, metal, and foam through sanding, priming, and sealing
• Apply paints, lacquers, varnishes, and specialty coatings using brushes, rollers, airbrush, and spray guns
• Mix and match paints to client-specified RAL/Pantone colour references
• Execute specialty finishes such as aged, distressed, metallic, and faux-texture effects
• Select appropriate paint types and primers based on substrate material compatibility
• Inspect finished surfaces for defects and perform necessary touch-ups
• Maintain painting tools, spray equipment, and mixing areas
• Collaborate with carpentry and fabrication teams on finish schedules and delivery timelines

Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in decorative or industrial painting
• Proficiency with spray guns, airbrush equipment, and hand painting techniques
• Strong knowledge of acrylics, enamels, lacquers, epoxies, and specialty coatings
• Experience with Pantone and RAL colour matching systems
• Ability to read design briefs, mood boards, and visual references
• Knowledge of surface preparation for various substrates
• Physical ability to work on ladders, scaffolding, and large-scale builds
• Ability to work in a workshop environment involving noise, dust, and heat
