Painter

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled painting work including surface preparation such as scraping, power washing, sandblasting, and minor caulking or plastering
• Apply paint, stains, vinyl and paper wall coverings, epoxy coatings, and other protective or decorative coatings to interior and exterior structures
• Utilize various application methods including brush, roller, and airless spray techniques
• Maintain and prepare materials by matching and mixing paints and stains
• Prepare estimates and produce inspection reports as required
• Ensure workplace safety by following established safe work practices
• Provide training and monitor the work of apprentices or labourers when assigned
• Perform minor glass repairs and assist glaziers as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Journeyperson Painter certification
• Valid BC Driver's Licence
• Minimum 5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Proficiency in airless spray techniques and surface preparation
