Painter

Responsibilities

• Prepare, paint, stain, varnish internal and external surfaces
• Repair cracks, holes, and other surface imperfections
• Sand and apply sealer as required
• Order and stock materials
• Maintain the work area in good order
• Perform other duties consistent with the job classification

Requirements

• High school completion plus Painter/Decorator Apprenticeship Program or equivalent
• Completion of 5,280 hours on-the-job training and technical training
• Physical strength, eyesight, and color sense
• Ability to work at heights and move heavy ladders
• Ability to read blueprints and perform trade-related math
• Ability to operate and calibrate simple machinery
• Ability to lift 21 kg to 30 kg
• Effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
