Painter II

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicles for paint through sanding, light body work, taping, and chemical washing
• Perform body work including repairing holes, major dents, and grinding welds
• Apply body fillers, caulking, and seal all seams to ensure a quality surface
• Mask off edges and areas where paint is not required
• Use dual action sanders, grinders, and air files to finish surfaces
• Spray primers using an air paint system
• Buff and polish finished products to meet quality standards
• Maintain a clean workspace by wiping down areas with degreasers and solvents

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous experience in automotive paint and paint preparation preferred
• Ability to operate dual action sanders, grinders, and various hand tools
• Ability to spray primers with an air paint system
• Knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards
• Ability to lift and move up to 40 lbs and work from ladders or scaffolding
• Ability to stand at a workstation for ten-hour shifts
