Responsibilities

• Perform skilled journeyman-level painting work on various interior and exterior surfaces
• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, scraping, filling, repairing, sanding, and masking
• Mix and prepare paint, primers, sealers, and allied coatings to achieve proper color matches
• Apply coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment
• Safely erect and dismantle scaffolds and ladders, and operate aerial lifts
• Refinish furniture, including wood surface preparation, staining, and sealing
• Install or replace vinyl floor tile and cove
• Assist with glass installation, including cutting and installing various types of glass
• Maintain equipment and supplies, ensuring proper storage and disposal of materials

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or vocational school degree
• Four years of experience in the painting trade at the journeyman level
• Proven skills in glass and vinyl tile installation
• Experience in furniture refinishing
• Valid motor vehicle operator’s license
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to climb ladders and work from scaffolds or aerial lifts
• Ability to accurately discern colors
