Painter

Responsibilities

• Assess, inspect, and recommend wall and paint upgrades as needed
• Match existing finishes and perform proficiency with spackle, crack patches, and drywall repairs
• Use tools such as putty knives, paint brushes, rollers, and spray guns
• Remove, patch, and install wallpaper
• Prepare, tape, and finish mud on unfinished sheetrock or similar materials
• Coordinate work with other trades and work both independently and as part of a team

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent (or a combination of education and experience)
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to lift and carry up to a maximum of 50 pounds
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work in a setting with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff, and visitors
• Ability to pass a respirator fit test and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working as a Painter
• Knowledge of paint mixing equipment
