Painter

Responsibilities

• Apply coats of paint and enamel to exterior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures of industrial products and equipment
• Read and follow verbal or written instructions, drawings, diagrams, blueprints, and customer specifications
• Select and prepare premixed paints and drying substances to match specified colors
• Use various tools including spray guns, pot guns, gravity feed guns, or siphon guns to paint surfaces
• Measure paint thickness using parametric tools and ensure conformance to specifications
• Prepare surfaces by washing with mildew remover, using steam cleaners, or sandblasting
• Control paint usage and inventory levels
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on machines as required for TPM
• Conduct tests and inspections to evaluate product quality and performance
• Maintain a clean, orderly work area and adhere to all company safety policies

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• 1-2 years of related experience or training in production processes, machines, or tools
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, diagrams, and procedure manuals
• Mathematical proficiency with whole numbers, common fractions, proportions, and decimals
• Experience using spray guns and various measuring devices
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet production deadlines
• Good verbal and written communication skills
