Painter

Responsibilities

• Paint and redecorate walls, woodwork, and fixtures using brushes, rollers, and spray guns
• Prepare surfaces by removing old finishes, sanding, or applying putty and filler
• Mix colors and paint ingredients to achieve desired consistency and color
• Protect surfaces by covering trim, floors, and furniture with masking tape and drop cloths
• Erect scaffolding and ladders safely and operate ventilation equipment
• Perform structural repairs, such as drywall repairs, as needed
• Calculate paint requirements and blend materials for correct texture and color
• Remove and reinstall fixtures like doorknobs and switch covers

Requirements

• Training from a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Real ID driver's License
• Ability to obtain or maintain a government security clearance
• Ability to lift heavy materials, climb ladders, and stand or kneel for extended periods
• Familiarity with various paints, coatings, and application tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in residential or commercial painting
