Paint/Body Worker I

Responsibilities

• Prep, sand, and buff painted vehicles to ensure high-quality finishes
• Tape and mask off non-painted surfaces and parts
• Seal body seams with epoxy seam sealer and smooth for final paint
• Grind, fill, and sand welds, dents, and gouges in exterior panels using body filler
• Spray primer on all areas where body filler was applied
• Operate buffers and sanders to remove orange peel texture and achieve proper finishes
• Maintain a safe and clean work area according to 6S standards
• Work under moderate supervision to meet time and quality standards

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in automotive paint prep and body repair preferred
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to operate dual action sanders, grinders, and various hand tools
• Knowledge of quality requirements for producing acceptable paint finishes
• General knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards
• Ability to work in non-temperature-controlled environments and stand for long shifts
• Ability to lift and move up to 40 lbs. and work from ladders or scaffolding
