Paint/Body Worker I

Responsibilities

• Prep, sand, and buff painted vehicles to ensure high-quality finishes
• Tape and mask off non-painted surfaces or parts around areas to be painted
• Seal body seams with epoxy seam sealer and smooth properly for final paint
• Grind and fill welds, dents, and gouges in exterior panels using body filler
• Sand and shape body filler around transitions or body lines
• Spray primer on all areas where body filler was applied
• Wipe down all areas to be painted with grease and wax remover
• Sand down painted surfaces to remove orange peel texture
• Operate a buffer to achieve a proper paint finish
• Maintain a safe and clean work area according to 6S standards

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in automotive paint prep and body repair preferred
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to operate dual action sanders, grinders, and various hand tools
• Knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards
• Ability to lift and move 40 lbs regularly without assistance
• Ability to work in non-temperature-controlled environments and stand for long periods
• Ability to work on ladders or scaffolding and wear required fall protection or respirators
